Why caregivers stay

If you've worked at a big agency, you already know what we mean.

You've been to the homes where you'd never met the family before that morning. You've covered for someone who didn't show. You've been told to "just keep them busy" with no actual training in dementia care. You've been paid late.

That's not us. EverCare was built by people who watched their own loved ones receive that kind of care — and decided to do it differently.

One caregiver, one client

Build a real relationship.

We match you with a primary client and one trained backup. You're not bouncing between four homes a day. You learn their routine, their stories, what makes them laugh. The work gets easier and more meaningful, not harder.

Trained for dementia, not just for tasks

You'll know what to do when it gets hard.

Every EverCare caregiver completes our certified memory care training before stepping into a client's home — paid, on the clock. Redirection. Sundowning. Bathing resistance. The skills you wish someone had taught you years ago.

Schedules built around your life

Predictable hours. On-time direct deposit.

$17–$20/hour starting, with raises tied to certifications and tenure — not favoritism. Full-time, part-time, overnight, short-term, and long-term assignments. We don't surprise you with last-minute shift swaps. We don't pay late.

The work itself

What an EverCare day actually looks like.

You'll be the steady, calm presence in one family's home — usually a 4-, 6-, or 8-hour shift, depending on your schedule preference and the family's care plan.

A typical day might include:

  • Helping with morning routine — bathing, dressing, grooming, breakfast
  • Walking, light exercise, or a sit on the porch
  • Medication reminders (we never administer; we remind and document)
  • A meal you cook together when the client is up for it
  • Light housekeeping in the client's living space — laundry, dishes, tidying
  • Companionship: cards, music, photo albums, the rosary, whatever brings them peace
  • Detailed shift notes in our care app so the family always knows how the day went

You'll never be asked to do skilled medical work or lift unsafely without equipment.

What we're looking for

Real qualifications, plus the things you can't put on a resume.

Required

  • CNA, HHA, or 2+ years of paid caregiving experience (home care, assisted living, hospital, or memory care facility — verifiable references required)
  • Valid Michigan driver's license + reliable, insured vehicle
  • Pass a clean criminal background check + drug screen
  • Pass a TB test (we'll arrange and pay for it)
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Smartphone for our care app (any iPhone or Android from the last 5 years)

Preferred but not required

  • Dementia or Alzheimer's care experience (we train every caregiver in certified memory care before their first shift, so this is a head start, not a barrier)
  • CPR / First Aid certification (we can pay for it if you don't have it yet)

The things that matter just as much

  • You see the person, not just the diagnosis
  • You're patient when someone asks the same question for the tenth time
  • You don't take it personally when someone with dementia gets frustrated with you
  • You show up when you say you will
  • You can be calm in a moment that isn't calm

Pay & schedule

What we offer.

We believe transparent pay is the bare minimum a caregiver deserves. Here's exactly what you can expect:

  • Starting pay: $17–$20/hour, based on experience, certifications, and shift type. Overnight and dementia-experienced caregivers start at the higher end of the range.
  • Pay raises: scheduled at 90 days, 6 months, and 1 year — plus a bump for completing each level of memory care certification. Raises are based on tenure and skill, not favoritism.
  • Paid training: every hour of memory care training, CPR, and first aid is paid, on the clock, before your first client shift. You arrive prepared.
  • Schedule options: full-time, part-time, overnight, short-term assignments, and long-term assignments. Whatever fits your life — we likely have it.
  • Real respect: a small team, a phone that gets answered, and supervisors who do this work too.

From one of our caregivers

I worked at three other agencies before EverCare. This is the first place that paid for my memory care training, gave me one client to actually get to know, and called to check on me when my mom was in the hospital. I'm not going anywhere.
