Light Housekeeping

A home that feels looked after.

When the house starts to feel like more than someone can manage, dignity quietly slips with it. Light housekeeping isn't deep cleaning — it's the small consistent care that keeps a home feeling like home.

A quiet check-in

Has the house started to look different lately?

Quiet signs the house has become too much:

  • Mail and laundry piling up in the same chair
  • A bathroom that hasn't been wiped down in weeks
  • Kitchen smells that didn't used to be there
  • Bedding that hasn't been changed in a month
  • An adult child quietly cleaning during every visit

Why this matters

Why this is more than aesthetic

A cluttered home is a fall risk. A dirty bathroom is an infection risk. A neglected kitchen is a nutrition risk. And a family member doing all of it on top of work and parenting is a burnout risk.

Light housekeeping support, woven into a regular care shift, dissolves all four quietly.

What changes

What light housekeeping covers

The everyday upkeep that keeps a home livable — done in the orbit of your loved one's care, never instead of it.

01

A specific room-by-room rhythm

Kitchen daily, bathroom every visit, bedroom and laundry weekly, living areas as needed. Documented and consistent.

02

Measurable upkeep

Linens changed on a schedule, fridge cleared of expired food on a schedule, trash and recycling taken out without anyone asking.

03

Achievable scope — clearly defined

We do tidy and sanitize. We don't do windows, deep carpet, or heavy furniture moves. We're honest about the line.

04

Relevant safety in every cleaning task

Unsafe rugs flagged. Wet floors marked. Cleaning chemicals stored where they can't be confused with food.

05

A clear focus on dignity

Your loved one is included in tasks they enjoy — folding warm laundry, drying dishes — when they want to be.

Day to day

What light housekeeping includes

Folded into care visits, never replacing them.

  • Dishes, counters, table, sink, stovetop
  • Bathroom wipe-down at every shift
  • Laundry, folding, and putting away
  • Bed-making and weekly linen changes
  • Trash, recycling, and tidying living areas

What families ask

What families ask first

Is this a substitute for a cleaning service?

Not for a deep clean. We keep the home livable between cleanings — many families pair us with a monthly cleaner.

Practical questions

The things families actually ask about light housekeeping

Logistics, cost, scheduling, training — the day-to-day worries, answered the way we'd answer them at your kitchen table.

Is this a substitute for a real cleaning service?

No, and we're upfront about that. We keep the lived-in spaces safe and tidy — kitchen, bathroom, laundry, bedding. We don't do deep cleans, windows, or basements.

What exactly is included on a typical visit?

Dishes, counters, sweeping, laundry, bed-making, trash, and a quick safety scan for tripping hazards. About an hour of the visit, alongside the rest of the care.

Will you organize cluttered rooms?

Light tidying yes, full decluttering no — that's a separate service. We can recommend a trusted partner if it's needed.

Do we provide cleaning supplies?

Yes — we use what's already in the home so the smells and products are familiar. We'll let you know if anything is running low.

Can housekeeping be the only service we book?

On its own it's usually too short to justify a visit. Most families pair it with companion or personal care so the hour is part of a longer, more useful visit.

We'll build housekeeping into care shifts in a way that fits the home — not around it.
